Abstract
Healthcare services play a vital role in improving the quality of life of citizens. In India, patients
have the option to choose between public and private hospitals based on their needs, financial
condition, and perception of service quality. The present study aims to identify the major
factors influencing patient preference for public or private hospitals in Bhopal district. The
study focuses on variables such as affordability, quality of treatment, availability of doctors,
infrastructure, waiting time, cleanliness, emergency services, and patient satisfaction.
